About
Aritro Roy is a design strategist, venture builder and community-systems operator who turns improbable ideas into things people can join.
Introduction
I am Aritro Roy, although most people eventually call me Zoopi. I am a design strategist, venture builder and community-systems operator from Bangalore, now based in London. The outputs move between products, programmes, events, brands, communities and occasionally a project that is difficult to explain without several diagrams. The recurring job is simpler: I take an idea that is still chaotic, make it legible enough for other people to join, and build enough structure for it to survive reality.
That instinct began early. At roughly fifteen I started building an esports organisation, long before I had language such as “community operations” or “systems design.” At University of the Arts London it reappeared through Design Management, professional placements and the Creative Entrepreneurs Society, where I moved through hands-on event and leadership roles before becoming President for 2026/27. CES taught me that a community is not an audience or an event calendar. It is an operating system made of trust, repeated formats, ownership, handovers and rooms people choose to return to.
In Porto, that same instinct moved into health technology. I co-founded Synetra Health with an interdisciplinary team during an intensive venture programme, working from field conversations toward an offline, low-power concept for pre-hospital decision support in austere environments. Around the formal work, I keep collecting sidequests: product design in New York, London Fashion Week, game worlds, tiny films, travel photography and the occasional challenge I agreed to before reading the instructions. I write about the messy middle because polished outcomes are rarely where the useful knowledge lives.
What I do
Three capabilities, usually running at the same time and usually on the same project.
- Venture and product systems. Taking an early idea from field research and conversations to a concept, a team structure and something testable — most recently in pre-hospital health technology.
- Communities, partnerships and experiences. Designing formats, ownership and handovers so a society, programme or event survives the people who started it.
- Design strategy and storytelling. Making an ambiguous idea legible — positioning, narrative, decks, brand systems and the documents that let other people commit.
How this started
It started with an esports organisation built at roughly fifteen, before I had the words for community operations or systems design. The pattern has been the same since: a group of people who have not met yet, an idea nobody has drawn, and the slow work of turning it into something that runs without me standing in the middle of it.
Currently
President of the Creative Entrepreneurs Society, and co-building Prismatic Studios & Snapsy when I am not sidequesting.
Based in London, UK. The most current record of what is active lives in the work archive.
Things I keep returning to
- How ambiguity becomes coordinated motion — and where that conversion usually fails.
- Why communities thin out quietly instead of collapsing loudly.
- What field reality vetoes in a technically elegant health-technology idea.
- Handovers, succession and building things designed to be inherited.
- Photography as a way of paying attention to work you are already inside of.

Outside formal work
Sidequests are the point, not the distraction: travel photography, tiny films, game worlds, fashion week backstages, long detours through unfamiliar cities, and the occasional challenge agreed to before reading the instructions.
What I am open to
